Two Things About Winnipeg

A black hole that once held
a rosetta window still haunts me

as does a song you sang
in a cathedral’s shadows

about a prairie town
that no longer exists except

in the taste of Nehi grape pop
and chrome bar stools that spin

and cheers from a high school gym
on a frozen January night in 1969

and the moonlight that collects
in a shattered rosetta window.
