10 things I know to be true

Early morning in Iowa

1. Stories, books, reading, writing, words keep me whole.

2. So does love, family and friends.

3. And place, a sense of being from somewhere.

4. The open road will always call to me.

5. As will wide skies.

6. And an empty beach.

7. I take photos — I’m rarely in them.

8. White wine is better than red.

9. Coffee in the morning is a good thing.

10. I spent too much time in the sun as a kid — and I’m paying for it now — but I’d probably do it again.

What’s on your list? Share it.

  1. Thank you all for your comments! Fun post, but hard to decide what I could list as “true.” Had almost 1000 visits yesterday, so this is now my top post. They were mostly Stumbleupon hits, but I’m not picky! 🙂 The competitive side of me (this I know is true, too) always likes to check out my blog dashboard with all those “true” stats.

  2. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any methods to help stop content from being stolen? I’d definitely appreciate it.

  3. Hi Danial,

There’s not much I can do if someone lifts some of my content. All I can say is that I only reprint poems of mine here that have already been published in literary magazines, online or in some other published form. The photos copied from this site would be low-res and of poor quality — and I know they are not professional work anyway. I just enjoy taking photos and using them to illustrate my blog. I wouldn’t worry about something you can’t control. Just have fun exploring your world and sharing it with, potentially, the people from all over the world.

  4. Heya are using WordPress for your site platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and create my own. Do you require any html coding expertise to make your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
