Again, another challenge that I find difficult to translate into an image.
I’ve chosen a close-up of a stained-glass lamp created in the Bogenrief Studios in Sutherland, Iowa. The studio is housed in an old school and the former classrooms now house huge stained-glass windows and installations and furniture in various stages. One room holds all the various pieces of glass, stored by color.
This piece illustrates the idea of “merge” in that the lines of solder connect the colors to create patterns and shape and art. It was a surprise to find this creative space in the middle of a small town in a nondescript building — to find so much light within.
