I am thankful for daughters who laugh together

The night Emily got engaged …

Mallory and Emily are celebrating Thanksgiving together  (with their significant Seth and Nate) this week.

I wish I could be in South Carolina with them.

Nevertheless, I am thankful they are together, that they enjoy each other, that they connect in the way that only sisters do.

I hope they know they are lucky. I hope they always enjoy this friendship. I know they both will roll their eyes if they see these words.

And that’s okay.

Because I know they still laugh — as no one else does — about the time they broke the TV and their singing on road trips and their dance moves and their “rope trick” at the casino. And so much more.

Enjoy this week together!

You are making more memories, more stories, more laughter.

Love you,

Mom

  1. This is just the sweetest post! What a treasure you have. What a gift you have given them. I have seen parents drive wedges between children, and I have seen them create umbrellas to draw them in together. You have obviously been an umbrella mom.

  2. There have been and will be jealousies and hurts that can’t be helped, but they will have each other long after we are gone. It’s nice to have someone in your corner — and to remember when you wore glasses that covered half your face or who got their braces off first. 🙂
