The Dance of Death

The theater arts professor assigned
His class of would-be English teachers
To watch the grainy black-and-white video
Of Strindberg’s manic play of marriage gone mad.

His lesson on the playwright’s influence
Was long forgotten. But scenes of endless
Bickering still flicker on and off in her brain.
Like tonight, when she waited in the wings for her cue.

  1. The distance from the wings to the stage is only a few feet that will not carry me to the spot light of madness sliding into real madness daily. (Such an interesting film and idea worthy.)
