This is one of my favorite photos from a family reunion from five years ago. In the background is a smiling woman, who is filling the sky with bubbles. She is the mother of three of the children in the foreground — Matthew, Madalyn and Kaitlyn — triplets that she had with my brother, Michael.
Cindy was an amazing mom; she was always thinking of games and fun things to do with the kids. Cindy also had three grown children who have families of their own, so she was a grandmother, too.
Sadly, Cindy passed away from heart disease two years after this photo was taken. She was only 50 years old.
When I think of her now, I remember how she celebrated life: I hear her laughter and I see her surrounded by children.
